HOG DAMAGES

Measuring the total damages sustained by wild hogs is impossible, but there are some more easily measured areas of concern.  Feral hogs damage and destroy land, crops, and animals.

Hogs damage Land

A feral, wild hog is very destructive in nature.  They root up ground, wallow in mud, and territorially mark trees.  When a hog starts rooting the ground, they make a mess.  Have you ever seen the aftermath of a rooting hog?

Hogs Decimate Animals

Hogs will eat most anything.  Their diet consists of 88% plant matter, 10% animal matter, and 2% fungi.  Considering the massive amount of food that wild hogs consume, 10% is a lot of animal destruction.  They eat quail eggs, turkey eggs, young rabbits, and even young deer.  What species can survive their onslaught?
